TIEBREAK
1 / 3
UI delivery and client/server integration for a shipped tennis title, maintaining a legacy widget framework during a UI transition.
My role
Owned most of the UI implementation, built complete game modes, and bridged the in-house widget system and NoesisGUI.
What it solves
TIEBREAK relied on a legacy widget system while the studio moved to NoesisGUI, leaving substantial UI and game-mode work to deliver.
What it delivers
- Delivered UI and complete game modes for release and later platform work.
- Kept the legacy UI working during the move to NoesisGUI.
- Became the main programmer responsible for the legacy widget system.
Key decisions
- Reproduced useful NoesisGUI behavior in the existing widget system.
- Maintained the legacy UI so delivery could continue during the transition.
- Coordinated with server developers on complete game-mode flows.
