An unfinished weekend prototype where two friends and I got co-op multiplayer, Steamworks sessions, and a playable map running in Unreal Engine 5.
My role
One of three: I set up UE5/Git LFS, menus, Steamworks sessions, multiplayer and map. Declan designed the game and contributed map/code; Connor maintained build automation.
What it solves
We used a weekend co-op horror prototype to explore UE5 multiplayer and Steamworks sessions hands-on.
What it delivers
- Reached working co-op sessions, menus and a traversable map, but never finished or shipped the game.
- Gained hands-on experience with UE5 replication and Steamworks sessions.
Key decisions
- Bootstrapped UE5, Git LFS and CI so a three-person team could share one codebase.
- Built Steamworks sessions and menus, fixed mouse capture, and made the puzzle map.
